These Destinations Are Under 6 Hours Away From Bengaluru

The academy remains closed on public holidays and, the ticket price for the same is INR 200 {children below 12 years are allowed to go free}.

Want to go to Tibet but feel that it is too far? Fret not, head straight to Bylakuppe that is a few hours away from Bengaluru and on the way to the misty town of Coorg. A Tibetan Refugee resettlement in the Mysore district, this is one of the few regions in South India that practices and preaches Tibetan Buddhism. Highly recommended!

How to reach – Mysore, which is 50 kms away from Bylakuppe, can be reached by bus, a train or flight. Alternatively, it is 5 hours drive away from Bengaluru
Things to do – Visit Golden Temple, Sera Je Monastery, Sakya Monastery, Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, and the Tibetan shops. Don’t forget to try their authentic and delicious Tibetan dishes – momos and thukpas.


Love nature walks and treks and fishing? We have the right spot for you! Galibore is a nature lover’s paradise that is popular for its fishing camps. It is a forested land on the banks of the Cauvery and is perfect for a memorable weekend.

Driving time from Bengaluru – 5 hours 30 minutes {approx}. Muddanur is the nearest railway station. If taking a bus, halt at Jammalamadugu and take a private bus till Gandikota.
