4 Best Adventure Activities You Can Do In Bangalore

Adventure isn’t a term usually associated with Bangalore; a city better known as the IT Capital of the country. However, Bangalore believes that what it lacks, it can simply build, which is why adventure activities can be found at the unlikely corners of the city. These adventure activities in Bangalore may be artificial, but the thrills they provide are quite real.

1. Skydiving

Skydiving - Live More Zone

Although Bangalore does not have any place for skydiving, fret not because your nearest destination is located less than 145 km in Mysore. Sign up with 365Hops that offers tandem jumping for all skydiving enthusiasts. The entire experience includes both training and the actual jump, which takes close to three hours, so plan {it is best to keep a day aside for this so that you can enjoy the entire experience}.

Tandem diving generally takes place at the height of 10,000 feet and is done in tandem with an instructor who will help you with the parachute. During this adventure activity, you can expect to freefall for around 30 seconds and hurtle towards Earth at around 180/km per hour. After half a minute, the parachute opens up, and you float through the skies for about 15 glorious minutes! Remember to dress appropriately in comfortable clothing and a good pair of shoes.

Tip – If you are planning an overnight stay, remember to book your stay online to avail the best possible deals.

2. River Rafting

Only 10 km from Bangalore, Bheemeshwari is a good spot for those who want to go river rafting the city. Here, the river Cauvery gathers plenty of force, giving you a thrilling adrenaline rush. But don’t worry about this being a scary affair as there are lots of flat grounds in between so that you can even hop off the raft and take a quick dip as well.

If you have time, we recommend you make your way to Dandeli (500 km from Bangalore) that has more rapids and covers almost 10 km of continuous rafting route.

PS – The flow of water truly increases during the monsoon season, so be extra careful during this time.

3. Trekking

Surrounded by vibrant forests, Devarayanadurga is about 70 km from Bangalore, while being a true paradise for all types of trekkers. It is perfect for amateur trekkers as the entire trek takes less than 30 minutes. Additionally, these hills are also a great spot for bird watching. Don’t forget to carry your binoculars and keep your eyes open for the rare Yellow Throated Bulbul, that frequent this region.

More time on your hand? Head to Hampi and on the way stop at Anegundi which is an uphill trek of almost one hour {more if you are a novice}. However, the view from the top of the hill truly makes an effort worthwhile, as the panoramic view of paddy fields, and the glorious ruins of Hampi are something that you don’t get elsewhere else in the state.
