Headed To Jaipur? These 6 Cafes Deserve To Be On Your List

     0

Jaipur is less than six hours away from Delhi. This means that it is the ideal place for a road trip from the Capital, especially for long weekends. And if you are headed for the Pink City as it is popularly known, we have you sorted with a list of cafes that you should visit here. After all, no trip is complete without some unforgettable food experience right?

Tip – The best way to reach Jaipur from Delhi is by road. If you don’t have a car, you can always book a rental car for the same.

Home Café by Mr. Beans

Although an oldie, this café has truly matured like fine wine. Boasting of floral furniture and white walls, it seems like a café right out of the streets of Shahpur Jat. Also, we recommend their tea parlour, pizzas, potato wedges, and waffles that are ideal for that date over books with bae.

Where – E-141A, Sardar Patel Marg, C Scheme, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Price for two – INR 1000

Café White Sage

One of the first cafes to introduce the concept of farm to table meals, Café White Sage is a truly unmissable experience, especially for vegetarians. Sourced from nearby farms, the menu at this café comprises of avocado toasts, savoury lentil waffles, red rice sushi, Vietnamese mushroom rolls, and more. Add to that, the café also serves ‘zero-proof mocktails’ that are basically fresh syrups that are made daily to conjure up some genuinely new flavours.

Where – 27, Madrampura, Civil Lines Metro Station, Opposite Pillar 88, Civil Lines

Bar Palladio

A truly chic and sophisticated bar in Jaipur, this one is housed in a royal palace. The interiors are done in stunning colours of electric blue and white. The bar opens to an outdoor space with tented canopies where wandering peacocks have occasionally been spotted.

Their extensive list of cocktails includes some exciting specials, which include Vodka Fly {red bull, currant flavored vodka} and Between the Sheets {white rum, cognac, triple sec, and lemo}. The food is Italian all the way, so take your pick from starters like Norwegian Smoked Salmon Pate and meatballs, and move on to pasta. Wrap up your meal with a classic tiramisu. Highly recommended.

Where: Narain Niwas Palace Hotel Kanota Bagh, Narain Singh Road

Price for two – INR 1800

Anokhi Café

What could be better than shopping at Anokhi and then heading over to their idyllic cafe for a quick snack? A perfectly comforting place to reboot if you’ve been OD-ing on pyaz kachoris and thick as hell lassis for it gives you a chance to eat healthy without feeling guilty. They also serve some fantastic bagels, cheesecakes, and pizzettas as well. Go get them.

Where – KK Square, 2nd Floor, C-11, C Scheme, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Tapri Central

A time-tested favorite with JLF regulars, Tapri’s has always been a crowd puller. Their furniture reminds us of our grandparents’ home, and their chai in the small, government-office glasses are endearing details that add to the overall experience. Grab a quick bite on the rooftop for beautiful sunset scenes over a plate of Maggi {duh!}.

Where – B-4/E, 3rd Floor, Near Surana Jewellers, C Scheme, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Meraaki Kitchen

Conceptualized by Masterchef India finalist Neha Deepak Shah and entrepreneur Shivika Kothari, the Meeraaki Kitchen deserves to be on your list. It is minimalistic, subtle, and spacious and goes beyond just the food.

Bare brick walls juxtaposed against concrete floors, elegant wooden interiors with sunlight streaming in make this café an ideal spot for a delectable meal, and laid-back conversation with your bookworm friends. It’s low-lounge seating in the loft, a section for books and board games, and even its verdant outdoors provide the ideal break from the chaotic JLF when you need it.

Don’t forget to try their Hong Kong Waffles with lavender and white chocolate mousse, Rose Oatmeal, and Zucchini Noodles salad with balsamic caviar in all their intensity.

Where – Madrampura, Near Civil Lines Metro Station Piller No. 88, Ajmer Rd, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Price for two – INR 1800

PS – Before you head out, make sure you stop at Laxmi Misthan Bhandar to pick up boxes of the famous kachoris and ghevar. Also, you can’t leave Jaipur without hitting up the city’s famous Lassiwala on MI Road. You’ll need it, after all that laal maas.
