Our Guide To The Best Brunch Spots In Mumbai

Did we hear you say brunch? Sunday or not, brunch is a feeling! It is that blurred boundary between a heavy breakfast, an indulgent lunch and a sinful dessert. You can wake up late, look casual and relaxed, while sitting at one of these restaurants and have several drinks and a meal, depending on the season.

Go for a cold salad in summer, while winter {if there is such a thing in Mumbai} may draw you to a soup and sandwich. Here is a list of 9 restaurants known to be the best brunch spots in Mumbai:

Think French toast with cheesecake fillings {yum yum yum} and melt-in-the-mouth pancakes. It is a bit of a splurge, but it is worth both your effort and money. Here they have a Korean Seafood pancake, which is gluten-free and made with crepe. To add the Bastian touch, there’s calamari with prawn stuffing.

That’s not all – savoury pancakes here are a legend at this restaurant, and you have no excuse to stop you from ordering them while you are here. And if you are in for some luck, you can also spot a celebrity or two!

Where: Bastian, B/1, New Kamal Building, Opposite National College, Linking Road, Bandra West

Boasting of an impressive collection of wine and over 30 meticulously prepared cicchettis {which are savoury snacks or small side dishes}, this cafe offers an extensive range of hand-rolled pasta, meat specialties, and Napoli-style pizzas. It is a unique one of a kind Italian experience in the lively heart of Bandra Kurla Complex.

With 38 wines on offer, from sparkling wines, rose, white wines, and reds, CinCin also serves unique European cocktails made from fresh ingredients. With gorgeous and comfortable interiors that transport you straight to Italy, you’ll fall in love with the place even before tasting the food. Did someone say perfect brunch spot?

The Good Wife

Cozy sofas, high tables, welcoming staff and warm, delicious food. Need a break after that hectic meeting on a weekday? Head here.

They have an extensive brunch menu, and we highly recommend their avocado toast, Mushroom Marinated in Coriander Pesto, and Herb Cottage Cheese Steak. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, their apple tart is pretty delicious as well.

PS – They are currently under renovations, so check with them before you head here.

The Nutcracker

Who said a teetotaller could not enjoy a wholesome brunch? The Nutcracker doesn’t serve alcohol, is comparatively tiny, takes no reservations, and tables are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Although the original outlet is in Fort, there is another branch of the café in Bandra. Both the cafes are ideal spots for a great breakfast and snuggle up with a book on a weekend afternoon.

Some of there must-try dishes include the Turkish eggs, eggs akuri, pancakes, and dark chocolate waffles. There are plenty of options for vegetarians as well. We loved their paneer bhurji sliders and bagels with cream cheese. And not to forget, the waffles!

Kitchen Garden by Suzette

Whether you are looking for a grab-and-go during the week or want to hang out with your best buddies on weekends, this café hits all the right marks. With Kitchen Garden, they bring the concept of ‘farm to table’ to their customers- so expect raw, vegan, organic ingredients which have been imbibed into the dishes they serve and prepare.

No to forget they also have their open salad bar– so make your salads and sandwiches – add prawns, avocado, pesto – literally anything from their myriad of ingredients available. Also, don’t forget to try their sourdough bread that is baked at their bakery in Worli daily — highly recommended!

Tip – Make sure you keep your card handy for easy payments.

Jamjar Diner

Situated in Bandra, Jamjar Diner is styled like an American diner with booths. The decor has been kept simple, replicating Versova’s pastel palette. Their menu has the right mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes – although we recommend their babaghanoush {cooked with eggplants} and a fresh zucchini dip with pita and the mushroom toast {which is a perfect breakfast fix}.

Meat-lovers, go for their beef tenderloin in case you’re looking for a dish that leaves you happy and satisfied. Also, don’t forget their dark chocolate mousse with hints of chilli and salted caramel along with their tiramisu, which is the perfect end to your meal.

Le Pain Quotidien

Walk into Hiranandani Gardens, and it already doesn’t feel like Mumbai. And then there is LPQ, serving some authentic European dishes in a cafe-like setting. Perfect for a Sunday brunch, a meeting, or a romantic date.

From freshly baked croissants, pastries, muffins, and brioche, everything is baked daily, ensuring high quality and taste. However, it is their English breakfast {The Farmer} that is worth all the money, because it is not only soul-satisfying but also some of the loveliest breakfast fares (INR 325 onward) around the city.
